Vince White-Petteruti
CO-FOUNDER & BOARD MEMBER
Vince White-Petteruti is co-founder of lean on us with his wife of 47 years, Marylouise (aka Duck).
His academic career included degrees in Industrial Engineering and Psychology from the University of Dayton, a MBA from the University of Chicago and a Masters in Urban Planning from the University of Illinois at Chicago. His career spanned over 20 years of senior operational and management experience with Inland Steel, culminating with the spinoff of the Inland Bar Company. At the Inland Bar Company, he was part of the four person executive team as General Manager of Planning and Administration. In this role he was responsible for Industrial Engineering, Purchasing, Human Resources, Information Services, Operations Planning and Strategic Planning.
After an early retirement and a strong believer of lifelong learning, Vince took on a series of eclectic positions. These included Research Assistant for the Great Cities Institute at the University of Illinois, Executive Director of Economic Development for the Civic Committee of Chicago, Senior Advisor to the Mayor of Denver, Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurial studies at Colorado Mountain College, Concert Promoter and most recently an End of Life Doula and Hospice volunteer.
Vince’s passion for end of life support was fueled by his faith and seventeen year involvement with Domus Pacis Family Respite, a not for profit his wife created to provide respite and comfort to families going through their cancer journey. This experience revealed the healing power of the mountains, the power of a giving community and the resilience and kindness of families going through the worst of times.
Being in his last chapter, Vince believes from personal experiences that no one should die alone and, if at all possible, be at home surrounded by loved ones-hence lean on us.
